Drabble Meme

Ganked from [livejournal.com profile] angelita26

In the comments, leave me the name of a character and a noun (place, emotion, thing, whatever). You can also specify a 'verse or story, if you'd like - my Masterlist is mostly up to date. It's only missing my RBB and Guess Who Is Coming to Dinner. I'll write you a drabble, somewhere between 100 and 300 words.

I'm apologizing in advance if it takes me a few days to answer prompts.

Prompt away!

Mozzie - Family

A bit of a character study.

Most of the people who knew Mozzie would call him reclusive, a loner, a guy who didn’t need anyone and who didn’t have anyone anyway.

But, that was actually far from true. The people in his life might be few and far between, but he was deeply loyal to them, he even cared about them in his own unique Mozziesque way. And, when one of those few people needed him, there was nothing he wouldn’t do to help.

If sometimes he went a little overboard, by say hiring a hit man, you could hardly blame him. He had been orphaned after all and losing anyone else that he cared about was unimaginable.

And that was why, despite having plenty of important things that he could and really should be doing he was instead lying on the floor with a five-month old Theo staring up at a mobile. Because Uncle Mozzie had a really nice ring to it and the kid needed him and so did Mama Suit, obviously. Who chooses a nanny from a resume and a couple of references? Ridiculous.

Mozzie knew a lot of things, memorized an innumerable number of quotes, kept the most arcane bits of information about the most unfathomable things neatly ordered in his head, but the most important thing he knew he learned long ago and far away in Detroit – family has nothing to do with blood or trees or legalities and everything to do with commitment and choice and love.

Oh I love it. That is so sweet. : )

Love the part about going overboard and hiring a hit man and how ridiculous it is to choose a Nanny from a resume and references. ; )

Thank you! I love the way that Mozzie thinks. It's hard to write, but fun to attempt!

I think so too. From his background it's easy to see Mozzie as nurturing to children, in his own Mozzie way.

Oh, love it :D This is 100% Moz, a well-balanced mixture of unpredictability, paranoia, love and care :D And yes, Uncle Moz does have a nice ring to it :D \o/

Hehe! Thank you! I don't write Moz often because he's so well, Moz, but it is fun to try to get into his head sometimes.
